Why Do I Have This Weird Fascination With The Mafia?

I’m not a violent or angry person *in the slightest*, I cry when I see homeless people or stray /abused animals, I’ve never hurt anyone in my life, I have a huge capacity for love, I’m really smart, and I pride myself on making good decisions and resisting peer pressure. I’ve never been bullied or molested, I’m not lonely at all, I have a good relationship with my parents, etc…. but, for some reason, I have this really weird fascination with the Mafia. I think all the old time gangsters (young John Dillinger, Vincent Drucci, Frankie Yale, Paul Ricca, Jack McGurn, Irving Shapira, etc) even cinematic portrayals of mob members (Al Pacino’s Michael Corleone in Godfather) are super-duper attractive. I can spend hours researching their crimes, how long they were in prison, what gang they were affiliated with, etc, when I could be doing my calculus homework or hanging out with friends. Why the heck do I have this unhealthy obsession? Why am I SO fascinated with something thats pretty much repellent to a lot of people?

Will Asurion Replace A Phone A Day After I Got The Insurance?

I got my phone on black friday, the lady that sold me the phone told me I had to put the insurance on myself because staples does not affiliate with asurion. I put insurance on my phone yesterday and later that very day I leaned against a table while installing a printer for my father and put too much pressure at the wrong angle on my phone. It was indeed after I got the insurance, but I’m not too trustful of companies like asurion, and was hoping someone could give me some reassurance that they will provide me with a new (or refurbished) samsung galaxy s3, or if they decide to think that I put the insurance on after I damaged the phone and not replace it at all. Please help and please be dead honest, thanks!

Tricky Question About Nrotc 10 Pts!!!?

Okay, so I was planning on enlisting in the Navy but when I went to MEPS they DQ’d me for high blood pressure but I was just excited. My question: I am qualified academically for the NROTC(I was leaning more toward the Marine program) program and AM accepted to one of their affiliated colleges. Do I have to wait a certain amount of time to redo MEPS for the NROTC program or can I just start my application immediately? I’m almost positive that my blood pressure won’t be an issue since I know what’s going to go on at MEPS. It sucks because I was kinda screwed over at MEPS; I had a person on their first day on the job and he put the cuff REALLY tight… :/

Is This A Good Personal Statement For College Apps?

From the moment you walk down the halls on your first day, it begins. The pressure consumes you, swallows you. Immediately it’s all about making friends, fitting in, and finding your niche. Already cliché cliques are forming: the jocks, the snobs, the mathletes, the stoners, and the notorious couch potatoes. One must define his or herself or face being defined by others. We categorize ourselves into one of these and conform to what society expects. Fearful of rejection, we stay comfortably within these expectations and boundaries. It usually goes a little like this: if you are a member of Assiteens Charity League your freshman year you are deemed a goodie-two-shoes, if you start on the varsity soccer team your sophomore year you are thought of as a jock, if you still go to church every Sunday by junior year you are a bible banger, if you actually do homework senior year you are officially a nerd. If I have learned one thing in my 4 years, it is that by allowing yourself to be classified and limited to only one of these clichés you have killed your true self. Conformity only limits your potential, shadows your ability, and narrows your opportunities.
When I came to this realization, I allowed myself to broaden my interests, increase my confidence, and discover my true self. I have defied the pressure, the clichés, and the expectations of others. I am proud to be an athletic, spiritual, and philanthropic nerd.

Why Do You Think Species Remain In A Stage Of Stasis?

A. A stable ecological niche leads to absence of selection pressure, which in turn causes species to remain unmodified or in stasis.
B. An unstable ecological niche leads to various selection pressures, which in turn causes the species to remain in a stage of stasis.
