Bible Thumper Uses Verses To Ward Off Attacker?

A North Carolina woman read the Bible to her attacker for an hour and a half after he slashed her throat before the man apologized and left.
Lindsay Wood, 32, of Shelby, N.C., had just arrived home from Bible study on Wednesday. Wood asked her 15-year-old son to collect the trash can from the curb. During this time, Wood’s attacker walked into her home and slashed her neck.
“She told him please not to hurt her, that she loved the Lord and her son,” neighbor Faye Cooke told ABC affiliate WSOC.
Police said Wood’s son heard what was happening and hid in the backyard out of sight while Wood continued to reason with the man.
“She offered her car up, as well as money,” Rick Stafford, a captain in the Shelby Police Department told WSOC.
But the man took none of those things.
Despite her injuries, Wood opened her Bible and read to her attacker.
He listened. She even invited him to her church.
After an hour and a half, her attacker apologized and left.
Wood is in the hospital recovering from her injuries, which required 20-25 stitches and staples in her neck.
Meanwhile, police are hoping to apprehend the man, who didn’t seem to want anything more than to hurt an innocent person.
“We want him off the street,” Stafford said.
She should have shot his balls off first and then preached. Do you agree

Is Online High School Right For Me?

I’m currently in my junior year of high school. I really hate it. I have a lot of friends in theory, but no best friends so I spend most of my time alone anyhow. I never found my niche, so even when I’m in a group of people I feel isolated and secluded.
I don’t think I have gained anything from my high school social experience
I have severe scoliosis and neck trauma so my back pack causes ongoing pain and posture issues. i get less than 6 hours of sleep most nights, which has affected my overall health. I participate in a number of activities outside of school and would busy myself with going to the gym, my internship, volunteering, and writing (my dream is to publish before I graduate.)
I like the idea of moving at my own pace, since I excel in history and english and need more time in math a science. In fact, my focus issues make it so that I have to self teach myself most of the science curriculum anyhow from power points.
I took an online class for school and did a fantastic job. I am great at time mgmt. and got an a+ and excellent comments.
Would this be right for me? I’m so miserable in traditional high school, I’d love to know there was another option out there.

Is It Normal For A Person To Like Blood And Weapons This Much?

My friends think I’m ‘weird’ or ‘odd’ and it grosses them out, but I don’t really see that much wrong with it. In movies, I always get annoyed if someone is cut deeply say in the stomach, arms or neck, and they barely bleed. It’s just not realistic. But if the character begins to bleed, particularly after being cut with a sharp object such as a knife, needle, saw or glass, as in, the blood is saturated on them, dark, wet and dripping down their arms and body, I find it very amusing. It sort of gives me a relaxed feeling, like I enjoy seeing it. If I accidentally cut myself, I’d have this nasty habit of squeezing the cut to make more blood come out, then I’d sort of lick it from my fingers or let it get congealed. Just everything about blood from the taste, the sound and look of the word in itself, smell and look, the sound of blood splattering or dripping, and examining it. I aspire to partake in forensics, so I guess it’s an advantage. In my free time I’ll look at surgery images, watch gory episodes of CSI or images from numerous horror flicks or weapons with blood on them. But my friends call me psycho for being this into it. It’s not entirely blood, but internal organs, gore and all things affiliated with that, but it’s for the most part blood. It’s just thickish water compromised of plasma, cells and iron. I’m a teenager, as well, so I’d appreciate anyone’s input on this, and if anyone else feels the same about the matter.

How’s My Novel So Far?

So I’m writing a book called Samantha’s Asylum. Tell me what you think.
I was walking home from school with the hot sun beating down on my neck. Thank God there was only one more day of school until summer vacation. Then Diana and I could go to the creek and swim together. “Samantha!” Momma called from the front porch. I picked up my speed along the beautiful path in the woods and came upon our home. It was wooden with a porch that held three rocking chairs.
I ran up to the porch, all smiles. “Momma, Diana wasn’t in school today.” I said after hugging her. Momma nodded and gazed at the horizon.
“You knew?”
“Yes.”
“How?”
“Mrs. Land, Diana’s mother, talked to me at the market today.” Momma was frowning and her blue eyes were sad. She put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed warmly.
“She had some very unfortunate news for me.”
‘What? Is Diana sick?”
“I’m afraid this morning she was.”
“This morning? What do you mean?”
“Diana went down by the creek for some fresh air. She waded through the water until her foot got caught in a root. She fell and she couldn’t get back up. Don’t worry, she’s safe in the Lord’s arms.” Momma said. I stared at her, not wanting to believe what I had just heard. But the sadness in her eyes was too real. I ran inside and pounded up the stairs.
“Samantha!” Momma called, hurrying up the steps. I opened my door and dropped my things on the ground. Momma came in and pulled me close. I started to cry. She put her arms around me and stroked my hair. I started to scream then. When we heard Papa’s wagon approaching the house, Momma ran down the stairs crying “Eric, Eric!”
OK So I know it’s not much, but alot more happens. she tries to kill herelf and her parents send her to an asylum. there she finds out secrets and stuff.

Lymph Nodes Swollen For More Than 5 Years?

My boyfriend has recently filled me in on some medical problems he has and one that got my attention was that his lymph nodes on his neck have been swollen for more than five years. Dr’s have shrugged it off but most dr’s that are affiliated with NY’s prison systems have always done that so i’m not suprised. When they gave him the results of a blood test it showed he had a high level of strep antibodies, some of his family think it’s some early form of gout? We don’t have any health coverage what so ever and he refuses to go to the hospital unless its an emergency.
