Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Illegal Immigration Hardliner, Reelected Mexicans Said It Would Never Happen What Happen?

Voters in Arizona’s Maricopa County have reelected Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the face of Arizona’s controversial immigration enforcement law.
With 82% of the county’s precincts reporting, the self-proclaimed “toughest sheriff” in America won a sixth term convincingly with 53% of the vote.
Arpaio, 80, is best known for vigorously cracking down on illegal immigrants in his county — moves that won him admirers in and outside Arizona but also created a fissure dividing Latinos and law enforcement.
He was one of the state’s most vocal supporters of SB 1070, which requires law enforcement officers to check the papers of anyone they suspect is an illegal immigrant. The Supreme Court struck down other provisions of the law, but ruled that the so-called “show your papers” provision was constitutional. Immigrants however, are not required to carry their immigration papers on them at all times.
“I would like to get together with the Latino community, but they scream at you and I just can’t sit down” with them, Arpaio told a local NBC affiliate in Arizona on Tuesday night. “We’ll let them get their senses, we’ll talk and I’ll let them know what I do… I have to get back to the Latino community without them screaming and yelling and we can talk about it.”
Arpaio’s career is apparently coated in Teflon, with his candidacy surviving a federal investigation into corruption, a lawsuit into civil rights violations, and findings by Maricopa County investigators that his department misused $99 million in jail funds.
Democrat Paul Penzone received about 42% of the vote and Independent Mike Stauffer had about 4%.
Meanwhile, in Pinal County to the south, openly gay Paul Babeu has won a second term as sheriff.
With 72 of 102 precincts reporting, Bebeu had 53% of the vote.
Bebeu, a Republican, held off three primary challengers during the primary and Democrat and Independent candidates Tuesday night.

Illegal Immigrant Identified As Leader Of Adams County Prison Riot But Will Obama Pardon Him & Can Obama Be?

JACKSON, Mississippi — A federal judge has ordered a man who faced deportation to remain behind bars in the U.S. on charges of participating in a deadly riot at a prison for illegal immigrants.
Juan Lopez-Fuentes is suspected of leading a group of inmates who took hostages at the Adams County Correctional Facility in Natchez during a May 20 riot. One guard was killed; at least 20 people were injured.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Linda Anderson in Jackson signed an order Friday to keep Lopez-Fuentes locked up pending the outcome of the case. Deportation proceedings for him had been set to begin later this month.
Court records say prisoners were angry about their treatment the day the riot erupted.
Anderson wrote in the order that Lopez-Fuentes was serving time for two previous felonies at the time of the riot. Her order says Lopez-Fuentes has few ties in Mississippi while most of his family is in Mexico, so there’s little to keep him from fleeing the country.
The prison holds nearly 2,500 illegal immigrants convicted of crimes in the United States. It’s owned by Nashville, Tenn.-based Corrections Corporation of America, one of the nation’s largest private prison companies.
An FBI agent’s affidavit in the case said the riot was started by a group of Mexican inmates, known as Paisas, who were angry about what they considered poor food and medical care and disrespectful guards. Paisas are a loosely affiliated group within the prison, without ties to organized gangs, FBI spokeswoman Deborah Madden said.
The FBI affidavit is part of a criminal complaint that alleges that Juan Lopez-Fuentes was in charge of a group of inmates who took hostages in one section of the prison. Lopez-Fuentes allegedly forced one of the hostages, a prison guard, to relay orders for tactical teams to drop their weapons and back off.
It took hours for authorities to control the riot, which grew to involve hundreds of inmates.
The prison’s special response team and the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s SWAT team worked to end the riot while state and area law enforcement officers, some from neighboring Louisiana, helped secure the outside, officials have said.
Before being charged with rioting, deportation procedures were to begin for Lopez-Fuentes this month.

What Exactly Are The Pros And Cons Of Having Illegals In This Country And What Is A Solution To The Problem?

So, in most places that I read about the escalating problem of illegal immigrants in our country (I’m aware it’s been like this for quite a long time and it’s not a recent thing), I really don’t know what to believe since a lot of people affiliated with the both the Democrat and Republican parties both seem intent on spreading as much misinformation as possible about how illegals really affect our country. What I want to find out is what are the actual pros and cons of allowing them to continue to stay here. For me personally, it doesn’t make sense to let all the needy coming in from all these different countries sneak in and we get to take care of them when our own people and economy need to be taken care of. Also, it just seems like a slap in the face to the immigrants who persevere and come in legally and when illegals put their personal (sometimes incredibly saddening) situations above our own system and laws, it just diminishes the value of those laws we put in place and makes it seem like big joke that we even have them in the first place.
Despite how it affects me emotionally, I appreciate the truth and facts a lot more so I can think rationally about it. So, what are the real pros and cons of the current presence of illegals in our country? How does it benefit the Democratic and Republican parties? How does it benefit the American people as a whole? As for a solution, I’m not really sure what will eventually happen, but it needs to happen fast. The situation is getting way out of control all the while Congress bickers and points the finger of blame at each other and neglecting to just sit down with each other and form a solution that every one can agree and compromise on. What would be your solution to the immigration problem?
P.S. If it means anything, you could consider me an independent (though I don’t really care for labels much). Also, if you’d be so kind as to provide sources for any claims you make, that would be much appreciated.
