Affiliate Marketing Question?

I been doing alot of research and Im thinking about getting into it. I realized it takes alot of work and success wont happen over night. But I recently ran into this comment someone left on youtube and seems to me like it would work and create sales pretty easy. Too good to be true? whats wrong with this strategy?
“Make money using click bank use following steps-
1.Go signup with click bank.choose best product you like in marketing section and get affiliate link
2.Signup StudAds.com as advertiser & advertise your affiliate link
That is all what everyone is doing to make money with Click bank
As you pay $1 for 500 visitors in which you get 5-10 sales, each sale commission about $20?
so you get $100-200 for each $1 you spend on advertising
Spend $100 you will end making about $10,000 to $20,000”

How To Create Affiliate Ads? What Are The Available Platforms?

I am interested in creating image and text ads for my product that I can track.
So if anyone would like to place my add on their website and I get traffic and sales from that website, I’d be able to tell, and be able to pay the commission to the advertiser.
Is there a platform or service like this???

Where Is The Best Places To Submit Your Banners, What Sites Have People Had Success/results With?

From an advertiser /affiliate or publisher stand point..What is the best places with the most ‘best bang for the buck ‘ to submit your banners to for either CPC or CPM traffic?..Listed in the order of; the one with the most options for the expense?, to the one with the most potential/traffic for being a free submission?. Obliviously now, this question is directed at the everyday ‘non-business owner’ who isn’t looking at a website to promote his huge corporation to the homepage of a major website(such as Yahoo, etc) that is going to ask said owner for anyway near 2k to 15k or more a month to advertise on their site?. No,This is not that ballpark at all, or what this is about, this is about the regular everyday on-line advertiser looking for results for a website that will bring in well targeted/good niche traffic, based on this what are people’s personal experiences around this topic, or what do people personally recommend?

What Is Affiliate Marketing..?

Perhaps the simplest way to explain affiliate marketing is that it is a way of making money online whereby you as a publisher are rewarded for helping a business by promoting their product, service or site.
There are a number of forms of these types of promotions but in most cases they involve you as a publisher earning a commission when someone follows a link on your blog to another site where they then buy something.
Other variations on this are where you earn an amount for referring a visitor who takes some kind of action – for example when they sign up for something and give an email address, where they complete a survey, where they leave a name and address etc.
Commissions are often a percentage of a sale but can also be a fixed amount per conversion.
Conversions are generally tracked when the publisher (you) uses a link with a code only being used by you embedded into it that enables the advertiser to track where conversions come from (usually by cookies). Other times an advertiser might give a publisher a ‘coupon code’ for their readers to use that helps to track conversions.
