Is It Ok For A 43 Year Old Single Male To Search For His “niche” In Life?

I am a 43 year old male who has been in sales for many years but is starting realize that I may not be in the right line of work. I am engaging with people but I am not a passionate sales guy. My salary is great and I work for a great firm but I am actually thinking of finding my true talents and strengths and following their voice. I am taking tests to find my true strengths and talents and have found that the sales industry may not be my natural fit.
Since I am a single guy at my age I have the “luxury” of time to search for my calling in life. Is this too socially odd or weird from a social norm perspective? Is it too weird that a 43 year old man is looking for his calling?

Your never too old or to late until you die.

The entire mission of life is to find yourself, to know who you are and what you want. Until you reach that point, everything is just part of the distilling process. Many people never find this, but them many never actually accept the challenge and make the journey. It’s a wonderful trip- sometimes scary, but worth any effort it takes.
Find out who your are. Learn to love yourself and be your own best friend- which is almost automatic when it comes together. Then you have control of your life and future, and that is a joy. Go for it.
Been there, done it, can’t believe how fortunate I am for it. I even taught classes on the process for a few years, but unfortunately found that few have the courage to make the trip even though they desperately wanted to go there.

I am not sure why you are asking this in the LGBT section but no, you are never to old to change careers, change looks or anything else you want to do. I actually applaud you for being motivated enough to do what makes you happy regardless of the cost. You have the ability to take chances and you are willing to do it. Good luck finding your niche. Hope the path you take leads you to where you want to go.

Dude, who gives a crap what society thinks! There is no “norm” anymore because nobody is normal. If you want to do something different then do it, it’s never too late to try something new and better your life.

Does it matter what is the social norm? If it makes you happy go for it. Find your calling and be happy.
