Theists, What Created God Or Did It Evolve?

If God was created, why? If it evolved, what possible ecological niche did it evolve to fill?

  1. Death to Rational Discourse! says:

Most theists believe that God has always existed, and thus doesn’t need to have had a creator.

  2. Morning Light says:

    He is.

  3. No Chance Without Jesus says:

This is what happens when you rely on the limitations of the human mind
whatever is too big to fit in your pea brain, must not be true

  4. Voice in the Wilderness says:

Nothing created God, neither did He evolve. God always was, and always will be. He is the beginning and the end.

  5. Neil says:

    Man created god.

  6. Mildred* says:

God was always there. No matter how improbable it sounds, I will insist on believing it. Furthermore, I will go door to door and insist that others believe it too.

  7. My cat drinks bong water says:

You realize you’re going to hear that “God needs no creator” right? Remember everything, but God needs a creator.

  8. Infallib says:

For all we know, God is the physical world, but we just can’t perceive it. One of the prerequisites for life is a liquid state. Electrons fulfill this requirement. Although, how it operates is presently beyond our perception.
In other words, God is the universe, which is eternal.

  9. Sara says:

He has been here forever and that’s just the way it is. Humans haven’t existed forever and the bible does not state this therefor it is irrelevant and when the question comes up we move on. No one could possily have an Idea of how, just what the bible states; when. FOREVER.

  10. Velvet Castle says:

If you mean God as in gods, man created them.
If you mean God as in God, He was, is and always will be. He didn’t evolve..

  11. Eclectic Heretic says:

Evolved. Mankind created every “god” that has ever been worshiped. The nature of these “gods” have changed greatly over time. In fact the first “gods” were pretty much in agricultural societies where fertility was a paramount concern and the “gods” were primarily female.
Even YHWH in the Judeo-Christian bible evolves from a vengeful war god to a much more benevolent being by the end of the Old Testament and is downright kindly in the New Testament. Not the same “god” at all by then.
    Blessings on your Journey!

  12. citizen Police says:

its possible God became self aware and built himself up. he is self created.
but that does not mean evolution existed on this planet.
it might not even mean evolution existed
was is taught is that jesus was created by God and it is implied that God the Father was Created by HIS GOD HIS FATHER.
there is a simple verse to read in the book of revelation. see rev 3:21
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
    for clarification see also 21:7
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
but also notice in the story of the baptism of jesus. there was a voice that was heard by all present, that said: this day have i begotten thee.
and realize the kj bible says that jesus was given life separately from God.
so if one God can give life to another and become a son, than the son also gives life to those that overcome and he becomes a God and they become his sons. i believe the statement that God can only ordain other gods is very true. God is the God of gods.

  13. Roger says:

No one created God because God is the Creator of everything. When you translate the Hebrew name for God, it means the One who always was and always will be. In Isaiah 43:10 God said, “Before me no God was formed, nor will there be one after me.” In Isaiah 44:6 God said “I am the first and the last. Apart from me there is no God.” Between Isaiah 43 and Isaiah 50 that thought is repeated 7 times.  Our God is called The Eternal One for that reason. He had no beginning and will have no end. An since no being came before Him, He could not be the product of evolution.
Deuteronomy 22:27 says that God is eternal. In Micah 5:2 we’re told about the origins of the Messiah. The literal Hebrew reads that they were from “the days of eternity”. The same Hebrew word is used in both passages.
Rabbinical scholars state that the particular way in which the very first letter of the Bible was formed in ancient manuscripts indicates that it’s impossible to know exactly what went on before Genesis 1:1. The Bible neither explains nor justifies God’s presence but from the very beginning man’s understanding has been that He’s an eternal being, without beginning or end.
