Should The Us And Europe Be Supporting The Syrian Government Not Condemning It?

It seems that the Syrian rebels are affiliated to the islamic brother hood and supported to some extent by Iran. Considering the US and Nato are fighting against a similar alignment in Afghanistan, why are they not supporting the Syrian government?

    We should stay neutral

  6. The Ghost of Christmas Past says:

Atrocities are being committed by both sides. The rebel army is basing itself in populated areas, effectively using civilians as human shields, and government forces are using artillery and mines regardless of civilian casualties. The difference is that the government’s chief responsibility is the well-being of its citizens, (Salus populi suprema lex) not to put down rebellions at the cost of tens of thousands of human lives.

  7. Pitiful loser says:

Actually, the Syrian government is supported by Iran; the rebels are supported by the other Arab states.

  8. hoarsema says:

As a good rule of thumb — if Russia , China , Yemen and Iran support something , there’s something very wrong with it.
