Are “movie Cops” Actual Police Men?

I don’t know because I think they would be those rented cops, but they have guns. Are they just rented cops with licenses to carry guns? Do they have any arresting power, and are they affiliated with the government?

“Movie cops” are NOT real cops or “rented” or “affiliated with the government” (unless they have a part time acting job!). Guns in movies = props

  2. Gray Wanderer says:

Most of them are just actors. Some times real cops take roles of police officer extras. I personally know six cops who have been cops on screen.

Here, the movie theater is patrolled at certain times by real police officers. They can and do arrest people all the time.
Since the overwhelming odds are that none of us are where you live (which you don’t mention) nobody can answer this question for sure.

    The guns are not real.
99% are full time actors and 1% are real cops who want to act.
In rare location case outside of studio area local off duty cops may work as extras but they do not carry their own weapon, they only carry the studio prop weapons.
Patrol? It would depend on who they hire.
My city most are off duty cops but in my city they cannot wear their uniforms for off duty work.
Went to the movie in Houston last week. Their they had real Houston police along with a real county constable, all working off duty in their regular uniforms.
